Growing up in the Amazon rainforest, Otem gave her a rare friendship – a lost jaguar cub, whom she finds, named Hope. When a tragic event forces Otem to leave Hope and go to an unknown New York, she dreamed of returning to the rainforest to her friend for years. At the age of 14, accustomed to city life, Otem discovers that the village of her childhood is threatened by animal traders, and decides to return to the Amazon to her beloved jaguar. Anya (Emily Beth Rickards), Otem’s adorably clumsy biology teacher, tries unsuccessfully to dissuade her from this reckless plan. Along with Anya, Otem goes on a journey to reunite with Hope and save her from those who are trying to destroy the rainforest and wildlife.
